DESMA offers the option of segmented heating plates for all machine and heating plate sizes. This means that the machine’s heating platens are equipped with up to 12 control zones per platen in order to achieve precise temperature distribution even with different mold sizes. In addition to the optimum adjustability of the individual zones, this subdivision also makes it possible to heat only the areas that are actually covered by the mold. If several injection molds of different sizes are set up alternately on one machine, the outer zones of the smaller molds, for example, can simply be switched off completely. All the associated parameters are simply saved in the mold data record and are immediately available again the next time the mold is used.
