Fields of activity he training is mainly carried out at DESMA in Fridingen and at the vocational school. In the 1st and 2nd year of training, the trainees learn how to read technical documents, how to handle materials, how to machine and hand-machine, how to join materials, how to form sheets and tubes, how to assemble components. In the 3rd and 4th year of training, trainees learn to manufacture workpieces with a high degree of dimensional accuracy, what to consider when assembling and disassembling tools, and how to check the dimensional accuracy and surface finish of a workpiece. As a tool mechanic, you plan work processes, machine/manual production (by drilling, sawing, turning, grinding, milling, polishing, etc.) and machining of tool parts as well as the assembly, alignment of machine tools for the production of individual parts according to drawings are part of your tasks, as well as the handling of precise measuring instruments and the development of work programs for computer-controlled machine tools. In addition to professional skills and knowledge as well as excellent training, we also impart initiative and independence through joint projects for apprentices.
