The company Klöckner DESMA Elastomertechnik GmbH was honored by the Federal State of Baden Württemberg for their innovative machine range SmartConnect4.U.
Within the scope of the competition „100 Places for Industry 4.0 in Baden-Württemberg“ of the Alliance for Industry 4.0, the state government presented an award to the Fridingen mechanical engineering company for being an enterprise which has implemented digitization solutions in their workflow routines particularly successfully. For their location, the winners received a Certificate of Honor and a glass trophy and are presented on the website „Alliance for Industry 4.0 Baden-Württemberg". In addition to DESMA, 27 other institutions and companies were honored.
When choosing the winners, special focus is set on the practical significance of these technologies. The committee of experts is also looking for products or projects with a high degree of innovation. And according to them, both have been implemented with SmartConnect4.U.
The program to network data sources and analysis results intelligently enables new products, service and business models to be developed in order to shape the workflows much more efficiently. Thus production quality can be increased. The system has already been geared to future developments, too. The networked collaboration between humans, machines, robots and computers is increasingly simplified by SmartConnect4.U.
„Industry, medium-sized businesses and start-ups in Baden-Württemberg are on the right track into the digitized future – as the projects awarded today impressively show. This award ceremony is to make tangible and added value creating solutions from the country better known and to motivate particularly small and medium-sized companies to actively tackle the real opportunities offered by Industry 4.0, said Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, the Secretary for Commerce and Employment of Baden-Württemberg during the award presentation at the Old Castle in Stuttgart.
