REVIEW OF THE YEAR 2016
Dear business partners, our dear customers and friends,
Who among us did not experience this year to be a remarkably special one: Business is getting volatile, speed increases, and it feels that time is passing by yet again even faster, complexity is growing, the predictability of events decreases to the same extent, and we even have to renounce of a few things that so far have been solid as a rock. Moreover, the year 2016 unlike 2015 has presented further challenges of a special kind. The markets, for example, appeared even more inconsistent: China and India extremely mercurial. The USA, very cautious. Brazil, zero growth. Turkey with its present challenges. The trade barriers with Russia. Import restrictions in Iran. The demand for machines in the domestic market and Western Europe also turned out to be equally weaker. These are the general conditions beyond our control which we have to tackle. That being said and for that very reason, we, in our feeling, have been able to shape our 2016 business better – although having slightly fallen under what was expected – than witnessed by many other machine and system manufacturers in our and neighbouring industries due to a strong share in new customers, the far-seeing and entrepreneurial readiness to invest on the part of some customers as well as our diversification beyond the automotive sector.
Not only in our feeling, but in reality, have we undertaken and achieved a lot with and for you! Let’s, for instance, recall the multitude of projects in process and product development we realized jointly. Or, the creation of our new digital services under the roof of Industry 4.0 with the product family SmartConnect 4u. The roadshow across Europe staged on this purpose. The mould shop realization we have started in China. The renewal of our warehouse and the optimization of production logistics at our location in Germany we recently commenced. The new building for production hall no. 4 at our Slovak facility. The K trade fair in Düsseldorf and – last but not least – the many project-related encounters with you! Follow this link with some video impressions to look back at the K show >>
As far as change management titled 'One Team' is concerned, we also have furnished proof of our determination for performance and, as we think, our efficiency.
The fact that all of these undertakings could happen is first of all owed to your contribution to our business. We really appreciated it. Thank you very much!
We look forward to many more interesting meetings with you within the next year and wish you and your beloved ones a joy-filled Christmas time, a relaxing holiday season and all the best for 2017!
