Injection moulding turnkey package delivered to Indian automotive parts producer.

More productivity through injection moulding process instead of compression moulding.
In mid 2007, Techno Auto requested DESMA India for a trouble-free Injection molding turnkey project for stay winker which they are producing in compression moulding. In compression moulding production, 80 labours were involved in post moulding finishing operations. Techno Auto's main concern was to reduce labour involved in post moulding finishing and increase the production..
DESMA India developed a test mould for the injection mould process with smooth flash trimming process. The operator simply has to remove the overflow groove in the part produced from the DESMA test mould - no additional trimming process in comparison to compression moulding. The customer was amazed with the result of the DESMA mould quality and the improvement in finishing of parts.
They ordered one Sigma 250 machine and one production mould with 64 cavities. For the same component the customer bought three more machines from DESMA in the period 2007 - 2008.
The advantages of DESMA turnkey packages
- Earlier 80 labours were involved in post molding finishing process (compressing molding), but with DESMA machines and mould only 40 labours are involved, i. e. a reduction of 50 %.
- Cycle time was reduced by 30 - 40 % in comparison to compression molding resulting in a corresponding increase in productivity.
